Bet of the Day – Wednesday, 10th of July 2024

Wednesday, 10th of July

And here we are at the Semi finals. We’ve got the Netherlands vs England at 8pm this evening and just like yesterday, both teams are pretty equally matched, with England being the slight favourite.

Important to note here is that even though we are at the knockout stage and one team will win and go through to the next round, from a betting point of view, they can still draw in the first 90 minutes of the match (Including stoppage time), which is the market that we are betting on. You will generally automatically bet on this correct market but just make sure that there is the option to bet on the draw when you place your bet because this is the market that we want to bet on where there are 3 possible outcomes (Win, lose, draw market aka 1 x 2). If you are unsure, you can check with the online bookmaker.

Money Bet
Sport: Football -> Euro 2024
Who’s playing: Netherlands vs England
Date: Wednesday July 10
Time: 8pm UK time

Outcome: England

Back Bet: Bet on England to win, at the bookmaker (Bet with the bookmaker that your day # challenge says to bet with).

Lay Bet: Lay England at the Bet Exchange on Netherlands vs England

Decimal odds at the bet exchange will be about 2.72 (Give or take a bit either way, Ie. it might be a bit higher or lower than this) and remember that the bookmaker odds will nearly always be lower than your lay odds at the bet exchange.

For both the money bet and free bet – Use the Betting Calculator to determine the amount that you need to Lay to return the exact same amount. Go back to your training in the Getting Started lesson if you need to go over this again.

Free Bet
Your free bet should have arrived from yesterday’s money bet (If you did one) with a bit of luck, so you can now place that free bet and make some money! Note that if it hasn’t arrived in your account after your money bet has been “Settled” (Ie. the event taking place), then give it several hours or so before contacting the bookmakers’ live chat and asking where your free bet is. This can happen sometimes, so just be aware.

Sport: Football -> Euro 2024
Who’s playing: Netherlands vs England
Date: Wednesday July 10
Time: 8pm UK time

Outcome: Netherlands

Back Bet: Bet on Netherlands to win, at the bookmaker (Bet with the bookmaker that your day # challenge says to bet with).

Lay Bet: Lay Netherlands at the Bet Exchange on Netherlands vs England

Note that this is a slightly more advanced tactic in a way, in terms of backing and laying 2 different outcomes on the same event. It’s beneficial because you need less total money at the bet exchange, thus maximising the use of your available bankroll. The downside is that it can be a bit confusing for some people when you start to do this because the liability figure of your first lay bet on England can be altered once you place your 2nd lay bet on Netherlands. As long as you are placing the lay amount that it says to on the calculator then all is fine! We go into more detail later in the training on maximising your bankroll to maximise your monthly profits, but I just wanted to introduce it at this point.

If the above paragraph figure worries you, then you can always just lay your free bet on the England match tomorrow, or any horse race or football match etc. The other option is to can attempt the above paragraph, know that you can cash out your lay bets at the bet exchange and start again, if that helps.

By all means, you can bet on any match/event/outcome as soon as you feel comfortable in doing so. We are just using events to turn our free bets into money… Just remember that the higher and tighter the back and lay odds, the higher the profits are from your free bets (But you need more money in your bet exchange account to cover that higher liability). It’s worth also noting at this point for any one looking to push themselves a bit more, that you can back and lay any markets as long as you back and lay the same thing, you cover every possible outcome, thus converting your free bets into money. This brings us particularly to the “Correct Score” market which will be able to offer you higher odds to back and lay to get a higher profit from your free bet. Ie. Back and lay “2-1” for England to beat Netherlands, 2 goals to 1 goal or even 0-0 which has odds of 7.6 at the time of writing.

The bookmaker you use will depend on which day # you are currently doing. We recommend doing 1 day, per day. Ie. 1 money bet and 1 free bet maximum per day, until you are comfortable with doing more. Go back to the “Let’s go” lesson if you need to remind yourself of how this all works and see full details in the “Getting Started” lesson.
